Judith Moskowitz, Ph.D., 547 Saw Mill River Road, Suite 2C, Ardsley, NY 10502. Judith Moskowitz, Ph.D., is a neuropscyhologist in private practice in Ardsley, NY. Dr. Moskowitz does both psychotherapy and neuropsychological evaluations, for children and adults. She does neuropsychological evaluations that assess for learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, behavioral problems, and high level autistic spectrum disorder (Asperger’s syndrome). Dr. Moskowitz is able to specify what contributions to difficulties are due to learning disabilities, attention problems, and anxiety. She can comment on the magnitude of subtle learning difficulties that, when coupled with anxiety, can impact functioning. Dr. Moskowitz ‘s evaluations include assessment of reading and language, as well as attention, and she is able to look specifically at working memory, anxiety, and language. She brings her training in psychoanalysis to the evaluations, and describes internal versus external preoccupations and the intrusiveness of anxiety in attention problems. Dr. Moskowitz describes her evaluation and written report as process-oriented, and she uses numbers from assessments to back up her process-oriented findings. Her written reports are sequential, give the big picture, and have a level of specificity that includes a lot of examples. The reports are useful in school placements and are also found useful by lawyers. The evaluation is a 9-hour battery of assessments, spread over three 3-hour sessions. Dr. Moskowitz meets with parents for 1 1/2-2 hours before the evaluation battery and 1 1/2-2 hours after the evaluation battery; she also has a feedback session with children, 4th grade and up, and littler ones if needed. After completions of the evaluation and feedback, parents are always welcome to call her. She tracks people for years. Dr. Moskowitz is available to go to school meetings.
