Everyday Parenting Psychology is a private practice partnership in Hartsdale and Scarsdale, NY, that focuses on maternal and child mental health. Their subspecialty is working with women in the perinatal period, which is the time immediately before and after the birth of a child. Whether prenatal, which is before birth/during pregnancy, or postnatal, which is after childbirth, Dr. Sawyer Cohen and Dr. Raskin offer support for parents with anxiety, depression, including post-partum depression, trauma, adjustment disorder, or sub-clinical adjustment issues, in which there is no diagnosis, but a parent is struggling with adjustment, and needs some support and help adjusting. They also offer help with parent support more generally, such as difficulties in co-parenting, questions about discipline, limit setting, issues with a sibling and new baby, or helping a family adjust. Dr. Sawyer Cohen and Dr. Raskin also offer child therapy, for early childhood through school-age children, generally up to age 9. Child therapy always includes parental involvement, at every age. With children ages 3 and under, therapy is with parent and child together.
