James Rembar, Ph.D., 510 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603. James Rembar, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in private practice in White Plains, NY. Dr. Rembar is a generalist, who works with people across the age range: children and adolescents, often including family work, and adults, including couples. Issues that bring people to treatment are difficulties in living, sometimes organized around depression or anxiety, that are most often relationship issues. For children and adolescents, relationship issues involve peer relations or parent-child relationships; for adults and couples, issues in their primary relationship often bring people to therapy. Dr. Rembar is dynamically-oriented, while incorporating both cognitive and behavioral elements (CBT). He describes therapy as a combination of dynamic, exploratory work, along with cognitive elements, and sometimes explicit behavioral techniques. Dr. Rembar is also a supervisor on the teaching faculty of Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. His private practice office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dr. Rembar’s sessions are 45 minutes; an initial evaluation is 1 hour. He is not on insurance company panels; however, some people are able to use out-of-network benefits. His office is located in a house-like building that is a suite of office spaces, with a parking lot in the back. Please contact Dr. Rembar by phone at (914) 949-1980, or by email at jsixo@aol.com.
