Ron Humbert, L.C.S.W., 303 Wolfs Lane, Third Floor, Pelham, NY 10803. Ron Humbert, L.C.S.W., is a social worker in private practice in Pelham, NY. Mr. Humbert works with children, adolescents, and adults in individual psychotherapy. Mr. Humbert describes his approach as problem-focused, cognitively-based psychotherapy. He works with children who have depressive or anxiety disorders, or one of those along with conduct or behavioral problems in school or at home. He also sees children who receive special education services in school, and whose parents want to add to what the child is receiving at school. Often these children have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or cognitive/processing difficulties. The middle schoolers and high schoolers Mr. Humbert sees are often struggling with developmental issues, which include identity issues, and are dealing with the evolving stresses of adolescence. Often these adolescents have some anxiety and depression related to their developmental struggles. Mr. Humbert works with adults with depression and anxiety, and also with adults on reaction to trauma, including domestic violence and other traumas. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sessions are 45 to 50 minutes. Sessions are typically once per week; sessions are sometimes twice per week if there is a crisis, or something in particular is going on. Mr. Humbert is on various insurance panels. With the rapid change in the particulars of insurance panels, he recommends that people call their insurance company with his name to check if he is on their insurance panel. His office is located in town, diagonally across from the Middle School and High School, in the Stiefvater real estate house.
