The Guidance Center of Westchester, 256 Washington Street, Mount Vernon, NY 10553.
The Guidance Center of Westchester, Mount Vernon, has a Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for people with serious mental illness, ages 18 and above. Participants attend a minimum of four hours per day, three days per week. A person who has had one episode of severe mental illness is a good match for the program, although they do take people at any stage of illness/recovery. Program participants attend classes based on one’s own recovery plan. The program consists mostly of group classes, although there are some individual meeting times. Participants work toward achieving an individually established goal. Payment is typically Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance or self-pay. This program has “open access”, meaning that if you call, you will be seen by the end of the week. Please call (914) 613-0705 for information or an intake appointment.
