Point-in-Time Count, Westchester County, New York 

Every year, at the direction of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Westchester County, New York, conducts a Point-in-Time Count. “The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January.” wcochomeless.org

On a single night in January 2024, there were 1,611 people experiencing homelessness in Westchester County, New York: 1,147 people living sheltered in emergency housing, 414 people living sheltered in transitional housing, and 50 people living unsheltered.  wcochomeless.org

On a single night in January 2024, there were 254 people experiencing homelessness and a serious mental illness (SMI) in Westchester County, New York: 210 people living sheltered in emergency housing, 37 people living sheltered in transitional housing, and 7 people living unsheltered. wcochomeless.org
