Amy L. Gross, Ph.D., 34 South Broadway, Suite 204, White Plains, NY 10801. Amy Gross, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist, as well as a school psychologist, in private practice in White Plains, NY. Dr. Gross sees children ages 8 through adolescence and adults for bereavement, which is the death of a loved one, and for anxiety, including generalized anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as parenting work, life stressors, and coping with divorce within the family system. Dr. Gross runs a “young” widow/widower group, for those raising children after losing a spouse, at a church in Larchmont. The group meets once a month, usually the third Wednesday of the month, in the evening, and it is open to new members. Dr. Gross’s individual sessions are 45 minutes, usually once per week, sometimes twice a week as needed. For the children she works with, Dr. Gross is available to attend Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, and also can help with negotiation and dialogue with a school when needed. Dr. Gross describes her approach as eclectic: cognitive-behavioral, while also incorporating psychodynamic theories as well as mindfulness. Her office hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays, all day and evening. She is not on insurance company panels.
