Eve Loren Goldstein, Psy.D.,is a clinical psychologist who offers psychological services for children ages 6 and up, through high school age, with anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, depression, and social issues, as well as parenting work. In addition to individual therapy, she does remediation and executive functioning work in cases with an overlay of emotional issues. Dr. Goldstein also does psychological testing, specifically, comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. Lisa Behrman, M.S.Ed. is a reading and literacy specialist, who does executive functioning work that is education-based, as well as reading, literacy, and writing skills work. Gayle Striar-Herman, Psy.D., is a psychologist who is a family-school liaison. She offers cogmed working memory training, a program that coaches individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with working memory issues. Dr. Striar-Herman also offers advocacy for parents trying to get services at school through 504 education plans and individualized education programs (IEPs), and offers placement services for families who are looking for outside school placement for their child. Marguerite Scarponetti, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist who specializes in articulation disorders, using the prompts for restructuring oral muscular phonetic targets (PROMPT) technique and talktools, as well as social thinking strategies, a social language use (pragmatic language) program for social interactions, as well as working with receptive and expressive language issues. Barbara Sheiffer, OT/L, is an occupational therapist who works with sensory integration, grapho-motor skills, core strength, muscle control, and daily living skills. Kimberly Goldner, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist who does parenting work, social skills groups, anxiety and mindfulness group, as well as individual work with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), austism spectrum disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Goldstein, the director, takes the initial call, listens to what the issues are, and then directs the person straight to the appropriate specialist for an intake appointment and treatment. Sessions are 45 minutes long. Westchester Child Therapy has as a goal to not over-treat. They have a cognitive-behavioral perspective, with specific goals and skills to be addressed throughout treatment. They do a lot of parent feedback. In addition to treatment, Westchester Child Therapy offers evaluations, including comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation, occupational therapy (OT) evaluation, speech evaluation, learning issues evaluation, processing disorder evaluation, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) evaluation.
