Tree House, The Bereavement Center of Westchester, Bronxville, NY

Tree House, The Bereavement Center of Westchester at The Chapel School, 172 White Plains Road, Bronxville, NY 10708.  Tree House is a program of the Bereavement Center of Westchester, located at The Chapel School in Bronxville, NY.  Tree House offers peer support groups for children ages 4-18 whose parent or sibling has died, as well as adult groups for parents and guardians.  Tree House meets every other Tuesday night, 6:30- 8:30 p.m.  Each session begins with a simple meal, followed by a gathering of all participants, after which the groups meet in separate classrooms.  Children’s groups are by age.  Currently, there are groups for children ages Pre-kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade, teens, and adults.  At the present time, there are four adult spouse-loss groups and one child-loss group.  Groups are led by professionals and volunteers.  The program is offered free of charge.  Families may make a tax-deductible donation to the Bereavement Center.  Tree House is an open-ended program, meaning that families can join at any time.  Tree House meets September through June.  Please call the Bereavment Center office at (914) 961-2818, or email info@thebereavementcenter.org.  For more information, please see the website at www.thebereavementcenter.org, and click on ‘our programs’ and ‘Tree House’.
